Looking the other way

Just about everybody that knows Mow Cop knows the view over Cheshire but not many look the other way. It probably says something about my Glossop upbringing that I prefer the horizon to be a bit more lumpy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no mountaineer. I reckon hills look better from the bottom than the top but the views over the Biddulph valley from the ridge are, in my opinion, every bit as good as the more usual vista.

Back down on the Cheshire plain and heading for home, this “restoration project” doesn’t seem to be going too well.

And if anyone asks a rural van driver why he loves his job…

… Especially at this time of year!

Some years ago I used to drive a van around Manchester. It wasn’t nearly as much fun as driving one around Cheshire and North Staffordshire.
