A dog walk in the sunset

I went for a walk with Harvey yesterday evening. The funfair is in town this weekend, though very definitely NOT my destination! Sandbach is usually quite a serene town and even with the fair in full swing it was still possible to get away from the racket.

Down behind the church a little lane sneaks off into the woods.

Harvey is a lot happier walking off the lead when away from traffic.

It’s a world apart from the town centre, yet less than two minutes walk.

And, of course, there’s got to be a pub involved with walking the dog.

An excellent pint of Joules Blonde in the Lower Chequer was followed by Oakham Citra in the Beer Emporium. Both pubs are dog-friendly and were, quite literally, full of customers enjoying good beer and conversation, more than a couple of us accompanied by dogs.

Man’s best friend, he takes you to the pub on a Friday evening!
