No, I’m not taking up am-dram. The Shakespeare connection goes no further than the title. The commotion is in Glossop, I did wonder what all the no parking notices were for when I was there on Saturday. Apparently it’s because the Tour De France is going to be within about six miles of the town.
Ah well, at least High Peak Council have had the forethought to ensure that the streets will be clear of parked cars if any of the cyclists get confused and turn right instead of left when they get to Woodhead Reservoir. Even then they’ll be heading for Mottram, not Glossop, so I don’t think there’s much chance of the race pitching up in town and stopping for a beer.
But it’s always best to be prepared.
After all, they’ve already taken a wrong turn. France is nowhere near here!
